Leave at least 15GB free space for the upgrade. I assume your D610 has Windows 7 in it and has been activated.

D610 should come with the later 533MHz Dothan (NX bit enabled) so you actually don't need to upgrade the CPU, unless someone has replaced the 533MHz one with a 400MHz one.ĭ610 has two graphics options: Intel GMA 900 (915 GM chipset) and ATi Mobility Radeon X300 (915 PM chipset), the GMA 900 doesn't have a WDDM graphics driver (Intel was too lazy to provide one) while the X300 does.

no NX bit) which means they can't run Windows 8 or 10. Banias and Dothan 400MHz were used in Dx00 series, a generation older than your D610, and these CPU have PAE flag off (i.e. There are two generations of Pentium M: Banias and Dothan, and Dothan has both 400MHz and 533MHz bus versions. To determine the exact CPU you're having, softwares like CPU-Z, AIDA64 or Speecy will give you more details on it. I'd suggest keeping the hard drive, it's more than enough, also SSDs with IDE connectors are either: Fast but rare and expensive, or cheap but painfully slow (especially those made by ****Spec or ****Fast, eBay has a lot of them), so you can forget about SSD in your D610. I'm sure D610 only takes IDE hard drives as I've fixed two before. Based on what you've given, you have a Dell Latitude D610 (man what a good choice, I love Latitudes) with Dothan Pentium M, 2GB RAM (maximum it can take) and 100GB IDE/PATA hard drive. Perhaps too late but I'll reply anyway, others may find this useful. Im using 10.4.6 SSE2/SSE3 + extra kexts from JaS btw.In fact, the Latitude D was just 6 percent faster than the non-Sonoma Latitude D CNET tested back in June a system dell latitude d610 graphics a slightly slower clock speed, an inferior graphics card with half the video memory, and a slower hard drive. If im correct Callisto is just for making OSX recognizing your panel correctly right? Could it be that i have a diffirent version of ATIRadeon9700.kext since it doesnt have QE/CI? I noticed during the install of koverg's patch i dont have Contents/MacOS/ist to edit. OSX seems to crash with 008, 005 gives really funny geometry and drug-trip-like colors. The device seems properly detected but it just says Not Supported in System Profiler. Thanks, arent you trying to move a non-exsisting file there? Its Callisto* not callisto* if i recall correctly.īTW, QE and CI arent working here. Now i only need to wait for the Dell Truemobile 1450 to come in and everything should be working like a charm. I havent seen any tearing yet (saw alot using just koverg's patch only). Reinstalling it seemed the fastest option and it worked really smooth after that. Thing wich caused me most trouble was installing 10.4.6 JaS build with additional installing of Ati mobility drivers at the customize field. Thanks alot, got it working on a Inspiron 6000 1920x1200.
